The intervention involves the expansion of the existing hospitality center, incorporating new spaces intended for tourist use. The two pre-existing buildings are situated on a prominent site, characterized by a significant topographical drop, which gives them high visibility in relation to the surrounding context of Sappada. The project consists of extending the existing volumes with the addition of a new building mass, positioned between the two existing structures and supported by the roof slab of the underground parking. This operation is carried out with the utmost respect for the pre-existing structures, aiming not to alter the delicate relationship between the two buildings but to integrate them into a coherent and functional system. The new roof is precisely inserted, fitting between the two pre-existing volumes, starting from the ridge and absorbing the rotation of the two building bodies. This strategy allows for the "visual unification" of the two existing volumes into a single harmonious system, creating continuity between the buildings. The proposed intervention functions as a neutral and discrete backdrop, characterized by a convex main façade where all the principal openings are concentrated. The building is entirely constructed using the X-Lam technique, and the external finish consists of larch wood panels, alternating with wooden window frames and vertical slats that create a dynamic texture, marking the entire façade.
